A Jewish Hexagonal Glass Jar

Olive green glass, blown in a mould, with three added handles. The body with six decorated panels comprising: a) Lozenges with a depression in the center. b) Tree. c) Aedicula with stylized column basses. d) Lozenges. e) Menorah. f) Vessel.

Literature: Barag, 1970, p. 57, Class VI, no. 2 (This item). Moussaieff Coll., p. 140 (but jug). Ex Stieglitz Coll., Tel-Aviv.

Period: Circa 5th-6th Century AD
Dimensions: Height: 8.1cm
Condition: Very good; with very nice patina; very rare
